Ubiquity Command for Google Voice
Highlight any phone number on the web and place a call using Google Voice (Command source or repository on github) .
Verbs
- call
- google voice setkey
- google voice setphone
- google voice configcheck
Important: This command must be configured before you can use it:
- Be sure you are logged in to Google Voice
- Execute the 'google voice setkey' command
- Set the phone number for Google Voice to call you with the 'google voice setphone' command and your 10-digit phone number.
Once configured, you can call any phone number by highlighting it and using the call verb. Alternatively, you may enter a number manually in the command line.
Trouble shooting
- This command requires Ubiquity 0.5x
- Be sure you're logged into Google Voice before trying to place a call (todo: add a check for this in a later version)
- You can check your configuration with the 'google voice configcheck' command, or use Firefox's about:config (enter "about:config" in your address bar). Search for google_voice, and check your key (view source on the Google Voice page and search for _rnr_se) and phone number.
You should follow me on Twitter for updates, also the easiest way to reach me with feedback about these commands.
